Jack Newman, MD, FRCPC, is the founder and first pediatrician of the International Breastfeeding Centre. For the past 38 years he has helped mothers to breastfeed their babies. He has authored the books "Dr. Jack Newman's Guide to Breastfeeding" and "Breastfeeding: Empowering Parents." From 1983 to 1992, Dr. Newman worked as a staff pediatrician in a hospital emergency department. In 184, he founded Canada's first hospital breastfeeding clinic.

Education

Jack Newman attended medical school at the University of Toronto. He graduated in 1970. He received his training in pediatrics in Quebec City and at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto where he eventually worked as a staff pediatrician. Dr. Newman is board certified by the American Academy of Pediatrics.
