Brooks worked as the Scholar-in-Residence for iGIANT (Impact of Gender and Sex on Innovation and Novel Technologies), where she helped study and advocate for women's healthcare issues. She served as a Fulbright Scholar at the University of Szczecin, Poland and has worked with various museums and nonprofits.
